Winds were mainly south and west. South winds brought warm temperatures 6 of 8 days. West wind brought cold temperatures 7 of 11 days.

The most common winds were SW (21.4% of the days) and NW (32.%) of the days. Typically there are 5.3% SW winds and 8.6% NW winds.

There was only one North wind (3.5%) compared to the 6.9% average.

The conditions provided local ice boaters acceptable conditions.

How did the month help or hurt the water levels? Lake Michigan had an estimated water supply of 146,000 CFS which is well above average. However, the outflow was 150,000 CFS. This means that evaporation was the predominant affect. In the end, the warmth and rain didn't help boost the water levels.

Finally, although it was a warm month it was not as warm as the preceding February. The 2nd month of year 2000, was 8.2° above average in temperature.
