Active Wear skippered by Marc Thiercelin will be the next to finish.  Thiercelin is currently 646 miles from the finish sailing upwind at 8.3 knots.  A rough idea of his finish time is Saturday, P.M.

After that there will be a several day pause in finishes.  Either UBP or Sobedo will be next.  UBP is 1121 miles out, with Sobedo trailing by 73 miles.  They'll both have to sail hard to gain 5th place.

Skipper Communications

Marc Thiercelin Active Wear "Going upwind in these machines is not what they’re made for...I¹m still not convinced by the giant spreader style of rig. Golding has had his problems. Yves also! The advantage is in fact the wing mast, but the recent boats have wing masts without needing the giant spreaders to hold them in place."

Bernard Gallay Voila Fr. "I’m 60 miles or so from Josh Hall. When he left the Doldrums he didn’t put any more water between us. Mike Golding has cruised a head a bit more, he reached the stronger winds before us."

Dominique Wavre UBP "FINALLY I can think about the finish – one week to go! I’ve got to the other side of the wall, and am starting to tidy everything up and make an inventory of what’s left on board…preparations are underway!"

Current Weather For Thiercelin moderate easterlies, i.e. upwind.

Weather Forecast Wind should go north and west for Thiercelin allowing him to free sheets.

What does it all mean

Thiercelin has never finishes a solo around the world race out of the top 3.
