Americas Cup: Oracle Racing Begins Sailing

The team backed by software millionaire Larry Ellison has begun training for the Americas Cup off Auckland.  They are sailing the boat America One sailed as USA 61.  It has been repainted white.

With Chris Dickson heading to Bermuda to sailing the in the Gold Cup, USA 61's former skipper Paul Cayard is at the helm.

 

BT Challenge Update

Leader: Save the Children

Location: South West of Bermuda, as far south as Jacksonville Florida.

Best 24 hour run: BP 218 miles

Current Conditions: South winds 23 knots, putting the fleet on the wind.

Forecast: Shifting NE and lite.
