News from the race course
Winds never got below 18-23 knots. Rain squalls carried gusts of 35 knots. Due to these conditions Flight 3 of the Challengers Semi Finals was postponed one day.
Nippon and America True took advantage of a rule that allows races to be postponed if both teams and the race committee agree. This same scenario played out of Team Dennis Conner and France. Prada and America True waited on the course until the race committee called the race off.
