Racing postponed due to heavy winds.
News from the race course
Today's news is not from the race course, but rather from the media center and from the team compounds. From the America True compound came word that America True would not sail her race against France. America True skipper Dawn Riley said: "Since our position in the semifinals is locked, we are going to take a moment to enjoy the results of our hard work and then focus on preparing for the semis." This means that once the French team sails the course and gains 9 points they will make the semifinals.
The finishing gun for the French will also be the final gun for the Young America team.
For 6 teams the holiday season will be spent in preperation for the semi finals. In the semi finals each boat will sail 2 matches against the other 5 competitors for a total of 10 races. One point will be awarded for each victory. Top 2 go onto the finals of the Louis Vuitton Cup. The finals are a best 5 of 9 format. So, the best of the challangers has at most 19 races to sail before the America's Cup finals against Team New Zealand.
Reference Note: Top 6 move onto semifinals.
In Round Robin 3 there is 1 race per day of 18.5 miles.
Victories in Round Robin 3 are worth 9 points.
