Accomplishments as Instructor:  
Founded the Torresen Sailing school in 1989.  
After retiring he started sailing schools for the Florida area Hunter dealer- Jopie Helsen at Sailors Wharf, and the Florida area Catalina dealer, Massey Yachts-Sunsail Tampa Bay.

Prior Career: College professor.  Retired from Grand Valley State University in Allendale Michigan after 24 years, as chairperson of the Political Science Dept.

• 101 Basic Keelboat 

• 103 Basic Coastal Cruising 

• 104 Intermediate Coastal Cruising 

• 105 Coastal Navigation  

• 106 Advanced Coastal Cruising
