Day 2 of Race Week saw divisions 1&2 sail the full schedule of 2 races, with division 3 sailing just one race. The racing environment was good with 8-11 knots of easterly breeze and flat seas.
Division 1 again had excellent and close offshore one design racing. In the Farr 40 fleets 1st race of the day, Hissar edged Solution by only 1 second. In fact the first 4 places in this race were separated by only 13 seconds.
The One Design 35 fleet also had a 1 second apart finish, this after 8 miles of racing divided into 2 beats and 2 runs. In this case it was Northern Bear of Milwaukee edging Sotet Lo for 2nd place. 3rd place Windquest edged national champion Roxanne by only 3 seconds.
The One Design 35's 2nd race of the day was also close. The second race was a 10 mile 3 beat/2 run affair. 1st to 4th saw a gap of only 53 seconds. Another 1 second apart finish occurred with Chicago's Detene being edged by Victory for 10th place. Further evidence of the close racing in the 1D 35 fleet is that in Race 2 from 1st to last was only 5 minutes 46 seconds.
Race 2 for the Farr 40's was won by Samba Pa Ti, this time by a margin of over a minute.
