1999 Key West Race Week Friday

18 Boats take home 1st place trophies

The final day of race week saw for many divisions a decisive last race.  Race Week's final race was sailed in 20 knot + south easterlies that brought along 4 foot seas.

Division 1 wrapped up some close and competitive racing.    War Bride clinched the One Design 35 class title, by finishing 9th.  2nd place Windquest caught up some, by finishing 6th.  In the end War Bride was 5 points clear of Windquest.   with a 1st and a 5th.   Taking the final One Design 35 podium spot was class newcomer Spot of Holland Michigan, with current national champion Roxanne 4th.

Division 1 Class A was won by Highland Fling by 3 points over Beau Geste. In class B Brava took a 3rd, while Vim was 4th.  The difference on corrected time was 17 seconds, so by this Margin Brava is the Class B winner.er

Class B which is composed of Viper 830's and is led by Guy de Boer sailing RE.  RE took the class championship on a tie breaker basis as Extreme Measures also finished with 21 points.

Division 3 is composed of 3 one design fleets- Henderson 30,   Mumm 30 and Melges 24.

The Henderson 30's are paced by Speedracer with 1sts in 6 of 8 races sailed.
