Purpose: Experience high level racing from the skipper’s perspective in an aggressive, intelligent 10 boat fleet. Very realistic boat response to your sail trim, weight placement, and steering is enhanced by excellent 3D graphics and performance logic. You still need to be quick with tactics and strategy but must marry these skills with your ability to sail your boat well - just like your hot competition does on the weekends! It will help you imprve your on the water racing skills !

Fleet: Choose from Skiffs (like 49er), Sport Boats (like Melges 24), Optimist, Boards (Windsurfer derivative), Tornado catamarans, Catamarans with spinnakers, America's Cup, Offshore Racer, Keelboat, JY15, Laser, Snipe, 505, Thistle, or Lightning classes. Boat behavior, sensitivity to crew weight, sail inventory, and sail shaping controls are accurate for each class. Specify length, displacement, sail area, rig, tiller, or wheel steering for the offshore racer and keelboat. Match race or fleet race in any type of boat.

Opponent Artificial Intelligence: All opponents know their pre-start maneuvers, tactics, strategy, 2005 - 2008 Rules, how to give and avoid bad air, and how to sail the selected boat. Their expertise increases with the difficulty level you pick - up to world class performance! At higher difficulty levels your computer opponents are very smart and the match racer is formidable!

Boat Handling and Boatspeed: Upwind, steer to follow telltales, heel angle, or target speed (large boats). Downwind, steer to mainsail telltales, spinnaker breaks, or target wind angles (large boats). Trim and shape the mainsail by adjusting mainsheet, outhaul, luff tension, vang, mast bend, or traveler. Fine tune the jib sheet. On large boats, set different headsails. You have a lot of control of weight - position skipper and crew precisely - In, out, back, forward, leeward, trapeze, etc. Also traveler controls have been expanded and extensive refinements made in tacking downwind logic and offwind boat control to accommodate the catamaran classes.

Realistic 3D graphics: In the primary 3D view you see your boat and sails in detail, responding to your adjustments and steering. Headsails change and respond as well. You’ll see nearby competition, marks, committee boat, and puffs of wind on the water. Look to windward to leeward and survey the scene in a wider 3D view. Optional supplemental view windows include a zoomable overhead view, useful at starts and mark roundings, and a chart of the race course.

Race Courses and Conditions You Can Select:

• Courses - Triangle, Windward, Gold Cup, Leeward, once or twice around, marks to port or starboard.
• Geography - A shoreline in a specific location, wind from a certain shore, tide or no tide.
• Wind - Specific or random wind strengths. Selection effects forecast, which differs every race and gives clues about weather systems, sea breezes, and windshifts.
• 15 levels of difficulty - keeps you on the learning curve and having fun, Also while learning, you can delegate some jobs to the computer, such as mainsheet trim or upwind steering. Demo mode gives steering and tactics to the computer while you adjust sails and crew! It is up to you.

  The included manual gives extensive advise on boat speed, tactics, strategy, wind and weather conditions. The COACH’s final critique, your final position, and skill score tell you how well you’re progressing!

  Additional Features

  • Coach (optional) critiques your tactics, boatspeed, and sail trim while racing and after the finish, if asked.
