Peregrine won J 105 NA's sailed off Chicago Yacht Club this
past weekend. Peregrine won by 4 points without benefit of a
1st place finish. 7 races were completed in varying and
challenging conditions.

Race winners included: Masquerade from San Francisco Races
1&2, Hooked on Tonic of Annapolis MD Races 3, 4 & 5, Hoss from
Fort Worth TX Race 6 and Gigi from Chicago winning Race 7.

Top Great Lakes boat C-Jem in 7th from Detroit, topped Lake
Michigan boat Gigi in 12th.

Short Tack: America's Cup

Beginning next Tuesday contenders for the next America's Cup
match will begin racing for keeps. The 9 challengers will
sail a Round Robin with the winner of each race earning 1
point. This is the 1st of 7 different stages of competition
lasting until January 21. It will produce the challenger
that will face Team New Zealand in the actual America's Cup
match.

Who might win? Well a British bookmaker has made Alinghi
Swiss Challenge a 13/8 favorite. Next is Prada Challenge
3/1, and then Oracle Racing at 7/2. 4 boats will make the
semi finals.

OneWorld is at 11/2 and the final American team Team Dennis
Conner at 13/2. Then Great Britain Challenge at 18/1.
Swedens Victory Challenge 20/1, Le Defi Areva 28/1 and
Mascalzone Latino 33/1.

There will be good television coverage if you have access to
Outdoor Life Network.
