Another one of the quality class championships is the J 105
North American regatta being hosted by Chicago Yacht Club.
Racing will begin this Friday and conclude Sunday. Seven to
9 races are scheduled. 49 boats are entered! This is by far
the largest fleet with past entries ranging from 9 to 34
boats.

Defending champion Hoss sailed by Glen Darden is not
entered. The top returning is finisher is Hey Jude skippered
by Jim Rathburn which finished 3rd at the 2001 North
Americans in Larchmont NY. Hey Jude hails from Fleet 4
which has Lake Ontario as home waters. Hey Jude won the
2002 Canadians series. Steve Phillips the 2001 North
American champion is entered with a chartered boat.

Lake Michigan boats entered include: Lucky Dubie the Chicago
NOODS class winner, Pronto II the Chicago Mac class winner
and USA 370 winner at the Verve Cup.
