The 53-foot trimaran Great American II had been scheduled to
leave for Melbourne Australia this past Sunday.
Unfortunately she was scheduled to depart from New York.
Great American II with co-skippers Rich Wilson and Bill
Biwenga arrived in New York last Monday.
By Tuesday they were serving as volunteers in the aftermath
of the attack on New York. They have now decided to
continue on with their attempt at breaking the Clipper Ship
Mandarin's record of 69 days 14 hours from New York to
Melbourne.
Along the way they will provide educational content through
their website Sites Alive. Their program is titled Ocean

Short Tack: Universal Oil Filters
Available on line at:
http://www.torresen.com/atwos/2001/se/0919/st.htm
For Northern sailors haul out season has arrived One of the
most important tasks to accomplish during before your boat
is stored for the off season is an oil change.
One of the important reasons to change the oil is to avoid
having your engine sit the winter with dirty, used and
contaminated oil. An oil change at haul out coats your
valuable engine with fresh, clean oil.
Along with the oil the oil filter should be changed. For
Universal Marine Diesel Owners Torresen Marine offers a
complete line of genuine Universal replacement oil filters.
