This week's featured boat is a rare chance to pick up a
Bruce Farr design that isn't a one design. 'Koala Flyer' is
a 37 foot Farr design that can be competitively raced.

B&G Instruments, a carbon spinnaker pole, and updated sails
show a boat that has been well cared for. Also, a current
survey is available.

http://www.torresen.com/atwos/2001/no/1128/st.htm

Tuesday afternoon @ 1329 the trimaran Great American II
ender her 14,000 mile record setting voyage. Rich Wilson
and Bill Biwenga sailed from New York to Melbourne Australia
in 68 days 10 hours breaking the record held by the Clipper
Ship Mandarin by 28 hours. They averaged 8.5 knots.

Their voyage was tracked via their web site, Sites Alive
(www.sitesalive.com). Upon arrival Biwenga said: "I not
only write for a lot of sailing magazines around the world
but I also sail quite a bit. But, this is the only project
that I participate in that has intrinsic value, that gives
something back to the community, to encourage kids to learn
about a diversity of subjects."
