Sanderson Thinks of fellow racers
Today my thoughts are with Bernard Stamm, Jean Pierre Dick and Vincent Riou. All three of them are amazing sailors, have great boats and fantastic campaigns so it has come as a shock to me that they are now out of the race and in such conditions. I am thankful that they are all well and that there have been no injuries but I know it will be a terrible disappointment to them that they are no longer in the race. I know as well that their families and shore teams will be concerned and I speak for all the Pindar team when I say that we wish them all the best and a safe recovery and trip back to land.
In terms of my own race I came down from the North yesterday as I felt we would get better wind down here. I put up a little spinnaker and had a great run down here. I am conscious that I need to get to Boston in one piece so the light airs scheduled ahead will be no bad thing - the mighty Pindar AlphaGraphics goes well in light wind so the race is on!!
Until tomorrow
Mike
