Tuesday Morning from Mackinac Island
11:00 am - Island Time - As the morning plays out and noon approaches, it is starting to look & feel like a “normal” end for the Chicago to Mackinac race.
Unfortunately the wind gods have had their way and it is all happening about 24 hours later than we would like. Many of the competitors are just stopping at the dock long enough to unload, load and switch to their delivery crews.
We have reached 111 boats finished and 20 between the bridge & the finish line.
Approximately 25 vessels have officially “Retired” and I am sure that number will continue to increase as the day plays out.
We have not yet seen any Beneteau 36.7’s, or any boats from Sections 5-10. The completed classes are Turbo, GL70’s, Cruising 1, Section 1 and all but one boat in Section 2.
