Orange II: Day 8


This eighth day of sea and first in South Atlantic was completed by 400 miles. Orange II was somewhat slowed down little after her passage of the equator around 1 p.m., Monday.

But for this morning, her speed has gone up gently to go above 20 knots. At 11 a.m., the maxi catamaran has been poled at 22 knots. She is sailing to the south-south-west to join a front which tackles the north-western edge of the Ste Helene high (read the weather analysis of the day).

Orange II is still in advance of Geronimo and Cheyenne’s positions at the same time. But attention, the American catamaran had made out very fast days as from the time she entered in South Atlantic. The variations could thus evolve well…
