From the North

Take 31 South to the Business 31/North Muskegon exit. Follow BR 31 south through downtown Muskegon until you reach the Laketon intersection. Turn Right (West) on Laketon. When Laketon reaches Muskegon Lake, it bears left and becomes Lakeshore Dr. Follow Lakeshore, you will pass a paper mill (SAPPI) on the right side of the road. TMI is located approximately one mile past the paper mill on the right.

From the South

Take 31 North to the Business 31 exit at Muskegon (this is also the end of I-96). Take BR 31 west toward Muskegon. You will pass through several stoplights. At the Norton Ave. intersection, turn left (West). There is a Meijers at this corner. Follow Norton, through a stoplight and two 4-way stops, Norton will bear right and turn into Lincoln, there is no intersection. Follow Lincoln until it dead-ends at Lakeshore Drive. Turn left on Lakeshore. TMI is located one mile down the road on the right.

From the East

Take I-96 West until it turns into Business 31. Follow BR-31 West toward Muskegon. You will pass through several stoplights. At the Norton intersection, turn left (West). There is a Meijers at this corner. Follow Norton through a stoplight and two 4-way stops. Norton will then bear right and turn into Lincoln; there is no intersection. Follow Lincoln until it dead-ends at a “T” intersection. The crossroad is Lakeshore Dr. Turn left on Lakeshore. TMI is located one mile down the road on the right.


From the West

We hope you are a really good swimmer. If you are coming by boat, after you enter Muskegon Lake, continue about 100 yards into the lake and then steer 155 deg. You will encounter a mooring area through which you must pass. TMI is to the left (East) of the Muskegon Yacht Club. We have a large yellow storage building, as well as a sign that says “Torresen Marine Inc” on the back of our main office building. There is a blue Vikings building just to the right of our facility. Please contact our office on your VHF, Channel 9, and we will be able to help you properly locate your boat when you arrive.

The cross-lake ferry from Milwaukee docks just two miles from our sailing school. If you would like to come in on the ferry, let us know in advance and we can arrange a shuttle from the ferry dock.
