Strictly Sail Show a Great Success

March entered Chicago like a lion with bone chilling cold and high winds, the perfect weather to foster dreams of summer and sailing. Over 22,000 guests visited the strictly sail show at Navy Pier Feb 29-March 3.

Torresen Marine of Muskegon, Mich. provided daily updates to sailors who could not be there in person. Torresen Marine was also active in the first annual Strictly Sail -- National Sail Industry Association Meeting. Chris Van Oosterhout of Torresen Marine participated in a panel discussion on the Internet. Four panelists fielded questions from industry members concerning the future of the Internet as it relates to the sailing industry. Other panel members included Sam Boyle of Sailnet, Larry Edwards of The Sailing Site and Charles Barthold of Yachting Magazine.

Torresen Marine displayed Hunter Sailboats on the show floor. The complete line of Hunter Marine boats were on hand with the exception of the 42 and 430. The Torresen store booth was filled with information about the Torresen service department, brokerage boats, sailing school and ship store. The Torresen Sailing Page was a favorite attraction among show guests. Torresen Marine is pleased with the great turnout from Michigan and is already planning for the 1997 show. See you at Navy Pier in '97

For more information about the show be sure to check out the Strictly Sail site.
