Excerpt from the Torresen Sailing Site Interview with
Andy Hindley

How will you adapt from the more stable and traditional Challenge boats to the more radical
Open type boats ?

Andy Hindley: Adapting from a stable Challenge boat to an Open class will not be that difficult due to my background in dinghy sailing - even an Open 50 is quite stable compared to a 14 foot racing dinghy.

Torresen Sailing Site: What qualities do you possess that make you think you can win Around Alone ?

Andy Hindley: I believe we have an excellent team and a fast, safe and well proven yacht - the factors that let you really believe you can win. The boat has been tested in the Southern Ocean by Pete Goss and has proved her ability to survive intact - and to win, first you have to finish. Behind all this is a support team that built the boat, supported Pete in his Vendee race and are now involved in building The Race boat for Goss Challenges. For myself, two circumnavigation's, a background in dinghy racing and a degree in Physics and Electronics give me a good platform from which to go out and race for the podium positions.
