Two boats remain on the course.  They are the 50 footer Shuten Dojhi II and the 40 footer Paladin 2.

Fleet Round Up:

Shuten Dojhi II skippered by Minoru Saito is hours from completion of a 3rd Around Alone.  Only 43 miles remain for Shuten.  With a speed of 7 knots Saito's ETA is early this afternoon. 

Paladin 2 is 322miles from the finish.   Paladin2's ETA is 29 May.  Neil reports: "Finally got a bit of a friendly breeze so am making progress again though still have a persistent head current that’s costing us 1.5 kts."  Neil's ETA is early morning Saturday.  This means he should make the race awards ceromony scheduled for Saturday nite.

What does it all mean ?

With a finish today Minoru Saito will join Phillipe Jeanot as the only sailor to finish Around Alone 3 times.  Jeanot sailed in 1982,1986 and 1990.   Saito's three finishes are: 1990-1994 and this years race.
