Balance Bar is 569 miles from the finish. Although leading the fleet Balance Bar is sailing at only 3.7 knots.
www.no-barriers.com is 592 miles from Charleston. Neal Petersen reports: "It is looking good for arriving Sunday morning." Currently Neal is sailing at 3.8 knots.
Shuten Dojhi II shows 837 miles from a finish which is estimated to occur next Tuesday. Shuten Dojhi reports a speed of 5.1 knots.
Paladin 2 is 1074 from the finish. Neil Hunter comments on the race to finish: "We have just broken the 1,000 miles to go. 993 now with 10 days before the presentation night on the 29th. That’s about 100 miles a day or an average of 4.0 kts. No worries you might say, walk it in. Normally it should be simple but with this weather, or rather lack of weather, nothing is certain." Neil and Paladin show a speed of 5.4 knots. This is above Neil's goal speed of 4.0 so he maybe smiling now.
What does it all mean ?
Weather observations show a force 3 breeze to the north of the fleet. If the fleet gets this it should speed their sail to Charleston.
