A recent flurry of finishes has seen nearly half the Around Alone fleet finish. Five boats remain racing.
Fleet Round Up:
Wind of Change leads the boats remaining on course for the Charleston finish. Wind of Change is 408 miles and is expected in Charleston Sunday. Reported winds near Wind of Change are west @ force 4. Wind of Change shows a speed of 6.7 knots fastest in the fleet.
Balance Bar is 1209 miles back.
www.no-barriers.com has again moved up to 4th place and is 1216 miles back. Neal Petersen reports on some good sailing: "Did 154nm 24 hour run. During middle of night did spinnaker change to heavier weight and smaller spinnaker." Also, he says he will have enough food to last to the finish. No Barriers current ETA is 22 May.
Shuten Dojhi II shows in 5th place 1248 miles back.
Paladin 2 is 1742 miles back moving at 5.6 knots. Neil Hunter says: "Forecast doesn’t look crash hot wit it dropping off even further."
What does it all mean ?
It appears as though Balance Bar will keep her 3rd overall placing in Class II.
