Around Alone Report February 9- Will South Carolina Continue ?

Robin Davie finally reaches Auckland

8 days after the deadline Robin Davie has finished.   His Leg 2 time sailing South Carolina was 51 days 18 hours and 55 minutes.  About his finish, Davie said: ""sure as hell beat being out there."

Will Davie continue in Around Alone ?  About continuing Davie says: "Work out how long it's going to take to fix. Then if we can get the fixes sorted out in the next four, five or six days, then I'd like to continue in the race to Punta."  Even if Davie can rapidly affect repairs, it is still up to Around Alone officials as to whether he continues.  The fact that Davie has completed the race twice, gives his case some help.  Race officials expect to decide in the next 48 hours.

If his request is turned down, he will continue to circumnavigate via Cape Horn, perhaps with a stop in the Falkland Islands.
