Around Alone Report March 23

No Barriers within  days of finishing

Please consult The Around Alone Report Users Guide for an explanation of this report.

Neal Petersen is within one day of finising.

Fleet Round Up:

www.no-barriers.com is 162 miles from leg's end.   At last report he was making 3.3 knots on a course of 028 degrees.  Neal reports on the sailing conditions: "The miles are coming down slowly. The wind is right on the nose, and we are sailing 45 degrees off the course we want. The seas are not too bad with sunshine."  Looks like the breeze is serving Neal as a waypoint indicator blowing from where he needs to go.

Next is Shuten Dojhi II.   Shuten lies 484 miles  from the finish.  Shuten is sailing faster making about 100 miles a day and should finish this weekend.

Paladin 2 comes next 929 miles   from the finish.  Neil Hunter is the fastest boat at 6.6 knots.  Neil has another week at sea before finishing.

What does it all mean ?

This is the 1st leg without a finish deadline.   So, although finishing soon is the prefered solution it is not the mandatory one.
