Shuten and No Barriers next at Cape Horn

Shuten Dojhi and No Barriers will round Cape Horn today.  For Neal Petersen it will be a childhood dream come to life.  For Minoru Saito it will be his third rounding of Cape Horn. 

Fleet Round Up:

Somewhere is 251 miles from the finish.  Somewhere has made a 24 hour run of 48 miles.  Somewhere is still expected to arrive Punta Del Este by Sunday. Upon arrival in Punta Del Este Somewhere will be receiving a new carbon fiber mast.  The mast will arrive by March 30 and Somewhere should be in prime racing trim by the April 10 start of Leg 4.

Next is Shuten Dojhi II.   Shuten lies 1310 from the finish.  Shuten had a 24 hour run of 86 miles.

Next is www.no-barriers.com.  Neal Petersen is 1400 miles from leg's end having completed a 260 mile 24 hour run.   Neal has yet to fully repair his mainsail waiting for calmer conditions to sew up the sail.  As he approaches Cape Horn he says, "Tomorrow will be a big day, and the beginning of a new dawn."

Paladin 2 comes next 2188 from the finish.  This gives Paladin a 103 mile run in the last 24 hours. 

What does it all mean ?

Even though it's Neal's first and Minoru's 3rd Cape Horn rounding, I am sure we will see evocative dispatches from them tomorrow.
