Around Alone entry Modern University for the Humanities and skipper Fedor Konioukhov has arrived in Charleston SC.
Arrival time was 0645 Monday September 7th. As with any ocean crossing it was not easy. The 60 foot boat met up with Hurricane Danielle and sustained damage.
Primary among the damage is the engine. Suffice it to say that the engine swallowed a little too much salt water and is currently not running. Modern University for the Humanities arrived under tow due to this lack of power. Further, the non running engine led to a shortage of electrical power. This explains why Konioukhov did not provide updates as he crossed the Atlantic.
Repairs to the yacht are underway.
