Reminiscent of the way the Great Lakes used to be sailed, the Appledore provides veteran as well as first time sailors an experience of a lifetime

Originally build by National Geographic writer and renowned world traveler Herb Smith, the Appledore has sailed up and down the East Coast as well as in and around the Caribbean Islands. Four years ago, the Appledore sailed through the St. Lawrence seaway reaching its final destination in Charlevoix.

Promising to match the wind of Lake Michigan without the waves, Lake Charlevoix captures the essence of what it was like for those who sailed teh Great Lakes in early history

For those sailors who want to experience day-to-day life aboard the Appledore, two daily sailing schedules run early and late afternoon.

For the truly romantic at heart, the Appledore offers a two-hour sunset wine and cheese cruise beginning every evening at six p.m. The Appledore even features a quaint dockside bed and breakfast with all the romance of a true 19^th century tall ship sailing schooner.

With their in-house catering service guise and full service bar, the Appledore can cater to almost any festivity,including weddings, rehearsal dinners and company gatherings. Their special service guide can assist you with catering details including menus from any number of restaurants located in downtown Charlevoix. Catering experiences on the Appledore can range from casual to gourmet hors d'oeuvres.

Loaded with modern amenities, the Appledore provides overnight accommodations as well as day and evening cruises every day between mid-June and Labor Day.
