2010 Spring Seminar Series

Seminar #1: Bad Stuff On Boats
Hosted by Marian Lambrecht from Schuss Marine Services. Marian is a U.S.C.G. licensed captain, advanced diver and the only female yacht surveyor in the Midwest. She is only one of 20 women surveyors in the small group of 1,500 worldwide. Holed, cracked and wet keels, hulls and decks is only the beginning of this sobering collection of photos and stories she has collected during her surveying career. The emphasis will be on sailboats, a reflection of Marian's amateur racing career, which spans 25 years and four countries. The session will be interactive so the group can comment and ask questions throughout the presentation.

Spring Thaw Seminars:

Feature Seminars with Captain Jack Klang
Co-Captains 9:30 am to 10:30 am: This is a ladies only motivational seminar for ladies who are somewhat hesitant about sailing. Perfect for those who say, "Saiiing is his thing, I just go along." It is 45 -60 minute talk and discussion with no men allowed.

Single Handed Docking and Line Handling 11:30 am to 12:30 pm: This classic demonstration and workshop has been attended by over 10,000 sailors in the USA. They come back year after year to learn it again and learn more.

All About Sails 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm: We discuss everything; including: Laminate and Dacron sail materials, the technology and engineering that goes into sails, manufacturing processes, identifying good and poor quality workmanship, and what constitutes the best sails for you. This is informative and not a commercial pitch.

Interlux Presents:
Keep It Simple - Making it easy to choose your paint 3:00 pm to 3:45 pm: Get the latest information and insight about how new paint technologies can solve your challenging finishing challenges. From top side to bottom paint, this overview will cover it all ... including answers to your tough paint questions.
