NOTICE OF RACE
1996 MIDWEST CHAMPIONSHIP REGATTA

WELLS BOWL TROPHY

1.0 RULES
The Regatta will be governed by the International Yacht Racing Rules, the prescriptions of the U.S. Sailing Association, the Regulations of the International 210 Association Regulations and Bylaws except as any of these are altered by the Sailing Instructions.
2.0 ELIGIBILITY
2.1 The Midwest Championship Regatta is open to all yachts sailed by members in good standing, with current Measurement Certificates of the International 210 Association and having paid their 1996 dues.
2.2 Completion of registration.
2.3 $300,000 Liability Insurance.
2.4 Each yacht shall have appropriate State Registration Certificate.
3.0 REGISTRATION
3.1 Yachts may register in advance by mailing a completed registration form to the Regatta Co-Chairmen:

3.2 Yachts may also register at The Muskegon Yacht Club on Wednesday, July 24, 1996 from 1300 to 1700 and on Thursday, July 25, 1996 from 0800 to 1000.
4.0 FEES
4.1 Yachts registration shall be $195.
4.2 Fees include admission of skipper and two crew members to all regatta social activities. Additional crew and/or guests to the regatta social activities shall be charged $45 each.
5.0 MEASUREMENT
5.1 Each yacht shall have a valid Registration Certificate on file with the Rules Committee.
5.2 Each yacht shall be weighed and must meet class specifications.
5.3 Each yacht shall present a signed sail measurement form at registration.
6.0 SAFETY EQUIPMENT
6.1 Each yacht shall carry one 8 LB anchor with a length of chain the combination of which shall weigh a minimum of 12 lb., and 150 feet of continuous quarter inch anchor rope.
6.2 Each yacht shall carry one paddle.
6.3 Each yacht shall carry a two gallon bucket.
6.4 Each yacht shall have approved personal floatation for all crew.
7.0 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
Sailing Instructions will be available during registration times on July 24th & 25th.
8.0 REGATTA SITE AND RACE AREA
The regatta will be hosted by The Muskegon 210 Fleet at The Muskegon Yacht Club. The racing will be on the waters of Muskegon Lake.
9.0 SCORING
The Low-Point Scoring System, Appendix B2.2 of the racing rules, shall be used.
10.0 ALTERNATIVE PENALTIES
The 720 Degree Turns penalty, Appendix B1.1 of the racing rules, shall apply.
11.0 HAUL-OUT RESTRICTIONS
No yacht shall be hauled during the regatta with out prior approval of the Rules Committee.
12.0 RADIO COMMUNICATIONS
No yacht shall send or receive special radio communications that are unavailable to all other yachts.
13.0 PRIZES
13.1 The Jack Wallace Trophy will be awarded to the winning yacht of race series one, two and three.
13.2 The Wells Bowl Trophy will be awarded to the winning yacht of race series four, five and six.
13.3 The Midwest Championship Trophy will be awarded to the yacht winning the regatta.
13.4 Yachts placing 1st, 2nd & 3rd in each regatta will receive a trophy.
