The second annual One Design 35 Great Lakes
Championships
saw two races sailed on the 1st day of the regatta. The first race's finishing order
was scrambled by a large windless hole near the leeward mark. First to last and last
to first
were not unheard of in this race.
After the 1st race the fleet was pulled off the
course due to the threat of thunderstorms.
The 2nd race was sailed in more consistent winds.
Racing continued on Saturday with a single race.
Defending champion Heartbreaker
continued to sailed consistently and has a 5 point lead going into the last race scheduled
for Sunday.
Heartbreaker finished as strong as possible on Sunday
winning the final race. This clinched a 2nd straight
One Design 35 Great Lakes Championship title for Heartbreaker sailed by Robert Hughes.
